What is EtherMPX system?
Broadcast STLs must deliver uncompromised quality audio, no modulation overshoots, undetectable latency for live on-air monitoring, and high accuracy / time stability for SFN operation.
Should be made of high reliability, dedicated hardware (unlike home PCs or el-cheapo Raspberry toys), and specifically designed to operate in harsh environment - like the mountains where the transmitters are located.
EtherMPX NG is an IP STL Encoder / Decoder system, designed exactly with these principles!
It can transport analog or digital MPX, transparently, without destroying and recreating the MPX signal, with broadcast quality up to 24 bits 192 kHz to support RDS2 and SCA subcarriers, with latency down to 2.5mS. Likewise, analog or digital L/R down to 5mS.
Analog MPX from decoder output Overshooting measurement
Uses state of the art ADC/DACs and components for the analog section, along with DC coupled balanced inputs & outputs to ensure zero overshootings.
Encoder noise floor @ -130dBFS IMD ITU-R (CCIF) Test @ 19 & 20 kHz, -5dBFS: 0.0018%
Embedded hardware silence detector (user configurable) and an AUX input to switch automatically in case of IP feed loss.
Carefully designed hardware and syncing algorithms, guarantee high accuracy (+/-100nS) and stability (+/-36nS) in SFN applications.
